YRCA Books Released This Week!

The YRCA books will be available the week of Nov 14th to all students in grades 4-7.  I will talk to each class about these books this week.  There are some fantastic books this year.  Even some of the teachers (and our principal) are reading them. See how many you can read.  Before we vote, we will have some YRCA book club meetings in the library at lunch. Stay tuned for more details…and check the YRCA page for updates and links to book trailers and web sites for each book.

When do we vote? – Between March 15 and April 15.

Where do we vote? – Mrs. Araujo will provide the ballots.

YRCA Voting is Complete!

Over 30 students in Divisions 1-5 participated in the Young Reader’s Choice Awards this year.  Students read at least 2 books in the junior and/or intermediate categories and then voted on their favourite.

South Slope’s #1 Choice with 20 votes was Amulet. Book one, The Stonekeeper by Kazu Kibuishi.

I wonder what book will be the winner?

YRCA books released Monday!

On Monday I will visit Divisions 1-4 to talk about the fantastic books nominated for the YRCA awards this year.  If students read 2 or more of the books in a category they will be eligible to vote for a winner in the spring.  Come to the library if you want to check out a YRCA book and find out more.
