Zarko Perko Scholarship

Criteria
The Žarko Perko Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to two students annually. Each scholarship will be $2,500 and awarded to a female and a male student graduating from a secondary school in British Columbia in 2025 and entering a post-secondary institution.
The successful applicants will be well-rounded individuals and be selected on the following criteria:
  • Have at least one parent of Croatian ancestry
  • Academic performance
  • Athletic participation
  • Participation in extracurricular activities (school, church and/or the community)
  • Volunteerism and service to others

Boxx-Barr Bursary Fund

Criteria
The Dogwood Monarchist Society, a non-profit in British Columbia since 1972, raises funds for 2SLGBTQIA+ charities and supports Vancouver’s queer community through social initiatives. The Boxx-Barr Bursary, inspired by Scotty and Karmella’s commitment to education, provides financial assistance to students pursuing post-secondary studies, helping them focus on their academic and personal growth. The bursary prioritizes applicants from diverse backgrounds—particularly Indigenous, Black, women, and gender-diverse communities—and acknowledges that it operates on the unceded territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations.

  • 1 x $2,000 Future Leaders Bursary – For students who are active in the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, supporting with fundraising efforts for non-profits.
  • 1 x $1,000 Rainbow Pathways Bursary – For students who are involved in community programs such as drag performers, queer sports teams or other community groups.
  • 1 x $1,000 Two-Spirit Resilience Bursary – For students who identify as Two Spirit, First Nations or Metis who are active in community fundraising or activism.
  • 1 x $1,000 POC Excellence Bursary – For students who identify as a person of colour and an active member of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, helping create a brighter, more inclusive future.

[TIME SENSITIVE] ICBABC Achievement Award

Criteria

ICBABC’s Annual Student Achievement Awards supports outstanding students as they further pursue their academic endeavors at a post-secondary institution. The vision of the awards program is to invest in and develop strong leaders who demonstrate academic excellence, community involvement, a moral force of character, instincts to lead, and commitment to intellectual and personal development. Students can apply for any of the three categories: Academic, Sports (male and female), or Special Needs.

VPABC Scholarship Foundation

Criteria

Do you have Vietnamese Heritage? To advance education by providing scholarships and bursaries to Vietnamese-Canadian graduate high school students and post-secondary students.

The VPABC Scholarship is awarded to student who meets the following criteria:

  • Currently, or will be enrolled in any Public Post-Secondary Institutions or Trade Schools in September of this year.
  • One of the student’s parents must be a Vietnamese descendant, OR the student must have been volunteering in a Vietnamese-Canadian non-profit organization.
  • Achieved a minimum of 3.5 GPA (high school graduate) & 3.0 GPA for post-secondary institutions and trade school.

  • This year, VPABC is offering:

    1. Scholarship Awards:

    * Four (4) scholarships of $3,000 each for outstanding high school graduates, undergraduate/graduate students, and trade students
    * One (1) $3,000 – Dr. Julie Nguyen Medical Award for a medical student

    2. Bursary Awards:

    * Three (3) bursaries of $1,000 each
    * One (1) $1,000 – Dr. Julie Nguyen Medical Bursary
    * One (1) $1,000 – Dr. Kim Chi Medical Bursary
    (for undergraduate students in science programs intending to pursue medical school)

    The program recognizes not only academic excellence, but also leadership, community involvement, and personal resilience.
