International Student Graduate Scholarship

Criteria

Scholarship monies to be awarded to a graduating international student(s)  going on to post-secondary either in Canada or abroad. This student should be an individual who well represents international students and has been successful in their studies.

Procedure

Applicants must submit the following:

  1. Testimonial highlighting their experience in Burnaby including criteria that includes academic, citizenship and volunteering in the school/community. (200 word paragraph in total)
  2. Resume.

If selected,  you will need to complete a brief questionnaire and  a grad photo of the student at graduation accepting their International Award.

Western National Scholarship Program

Criteria

Looking for  looking for high-potential applicants who excel in the classroom and in their extracurricular pursuits seeking to enroll at Western University in London Ontario.

  • One Neen Hodgins National Entrance Scholarship valued at $80,000 (note the special instructions in the Procedure section of this email)

  • One President’s Entrance Scholarship valued at $70,000
  • Four President’s Entrance Scholarships valued at $65,000 and up to 15 more at $50,000
  • Five James Jenkins President’s Entrance Scholarship for Black Students valued at $50,000
  • One Beryl Ivey Continuing Entrance Scholarship valued at $92,000

Due Date

In order for the school to complete the formal National Scholarship nomination for a student, the
following has to happen:

Student has to go into the on-line National Scholarship application. In the application there is a
section called “Nomination” and a section called “Assessor”.

In the “Nomination” section student enters the email address for the school administrator (this is Dragana Mihic, scholarship coordinator). I will receive the email with instructions for the nomination and request for the transcript.

The section for “Assessor” is where the student enters the email address for their selected person
to write a reference letter (this is a teacher or sponsor of your choosing – ask before selecting your “assessor”). It is the student’s responsibility to complete these sections and give their school
administrator and assessor time to consider/complete their request.

February 14, 2024 online or postmarked if by mail. YOU MUST CONSULT MS. MIHIC by Friday,  February 2nd if you intend on applying for one of these scholarships!

U of T Lester B. Pearson International Student Scholarship

Criteria

The international student nominee should be a creative thinker with an exceptional academic record, who demonstrates creativity, is recognized as a leader within our school, and exhibits the potential to contribute positively to the global community in the future. The candidate must intend to begin University of Toronto study in September 2024 and must be currently enrolled in full-time academic studies or have graduated no earlier than June 2024. This scholarship is intended for International students planning to attend the University of Toronto.

 Essay and transcript due to Ms Mihic by email or in Student Services by 3pm on Friday, November 17th .

Procedure:

Interested students must write a 200 word essay describing how they are a leader in our school and 200 words on how they are a creative thinker. Essays and a copy of your school transcript  must be handed into Ms. Mihic by email or in Student Services by November 17th.
