Criteria
The Dogwood Monarchist Society, a non-profit in British Columbia since 1972, raises funds for 2SLGBTQIA+ charities and supports Vancouver’s queer community through social initiatives. The Boxx-Barr Bursary, inspired by Scotty and Karmella’s commitment to education, provides financial assistance to students pursuing post-secondary studies, helping them focus on their academic and personal growth. The bursary prioritizes applicants from diverse backgrounds—particularly Indigenous, Black, women, and gender-diverse communities—and acknowledges that it operates on the unceded territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations.
