Let’s Read to the Moon!

Reading Club begins Monday, September 24th.  This year we are going to try and read to the moon!  Students should have received their forms from their classroom teacher.  You can also pick one up from the library.

Happy reading everyone!Rocket to moon

  1. As a primary teacher who attempts everything to get her class to read I am very interested in your “Read to the Moon” programme. Can you explain how it works? It sounds intriguing!

    1. Thanks so much for your comment. This is part of our school wide home reading program. You can read more about it on the reading club page. Each student and staff member receives a form for 50 nights of reading. After 50 nights they return it and receive a new form. Each night will represent 10 km in our 400,000 journey to the moon. Our community is very supportive of this program. After 250 nights students can choose a book in the library to put their name in. I also print certificates for each multiple of 50 nights for the primary students. At our assemblies we recognise all students who participate and I do book draws which generates a lot of excitement, too. Hope this helps. 🙂
