HOUSE OF COMMONS PAGE PROGRAM

Each year, we recruit 40 students graduating from high schools and CEGEPs from across Canada to participate in the House of Commons Page Program.
Students who maintain a minimum average of 80% and can speak both official languages are invited to apply.
To be selected, they must also be accepted in a full‑time program at a university in the National Capital Region.
Pages work directly on the floor of the House of Commons and are responsible for a wide range of tasks related to Chamber activities.
This provides them with the opportunity to broaden their knowledge of Parliament by playing a role in the rich traditions of the Canadian parliamentary system.
The Page Program is committed to having a skilled, diversified workforce reflective of Canadian society and to ensuring the equitable representation of women, Indigenous Peoples and members of visible minority groups.
We encourage members of these designated groups to self-identify when they apply to the program.

BCIT: BIG INFO SESSIONS

This fall, we’re hosting Big Info on Zoom over three nights. We invite you to join us for our largest online info session from the comfort of your own home.

While the event may look a little different this time, you will still be able to explore multiple areas of study, hear from faculty and staff, and get all their questions answered.

You will also have a chance to win one of five prizes of $1000 in tuition.

The CUE website is live!
Students can go to cuebc.org to register for events.
All CUE student events are the same and they are open to students in all grades.
Students will need to register on the CUE website in order to access the live events.

Throughout the Fall, we will be offering virtual information sessions and events to help students with their research on the University of Toronto.

To help you  with navigating these opportunities, we wanted to direct you to the Discover U of T microsite.

Engineering For Educators (E4E) is an annual event held for high school educators to learn more about U of T Engineering and engage in professional development experiences and conversation.

This year, we will be hosting a series of workshops throughout November. Please keep an eye out for the details to come in the upcoming weeks.

2020: UBC ONLINE INFO SESSIONS

TRU Bachelor of Engineering in Software Engineering – APPLICATION DEADLINE EXTENDED!

The deadline to apply has been extended to April 30th!

If you are interested, please know there is still time to apply to the Bachelor of Engineering in Software Engineering at TRU for Fall 2020, however, with limited seats once they are full we won’t be able to accept anymore students.  For students to take advantage of the lower academic requirements they must apply NOW.

Admission Requirements:

High School Admission Requirements

1.    BC Grade 12 (or equivalent).

2.    BC English 12/English 12 First Peoples with a minimum of 67% (or equivalent).

3.    Pre-Calculus 12 with a minimum of 67% (or equivalent).

4.  Physics 12 with a minimum of 67% (or equivalent). 

5.  Chemistry 12 with a minimum of 67% (or equivalent). (You will still be considered for admission if you do not fulfill the Chemistry 12 requirements, however you may have to complete an extra Chemistry course)

JIBC continues to receive inquiries from high school students and parents, like yourselves, who are interested in learning about the Institute and its programs that lead to careers in public safety. The focus of this event is to provide meaningful information to prospective students.

JIBC is a public post-secondary institution that offers innovative education and training in the fields of law enforcement, firefighting, paramedicine, corrections, emergency management, leadership, conflict resolution and other related disciplines.

Students will learn how JIBC programs can prepare them for a career in public safety.
Our programs are focused on applied learning and our expert faculty are active in their professional fields. We also provide a range of student support services that contribute to the success of our students.

Event highlights:

  • Visit the career fair in the gymnasium between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
  • Speak with Program Advisors from various JIBC programs and learn what it takes to be competitive in these careers
  • Networking with recruiters from various public safety fields to learn what it takes to be competitive in these careers
  • Take a tour of the New Westminster campus
  • Watch one of our presentations in the theatre to learn about the many JIBC programs available in law enforcement, paramedicine, emergency management, firefighting, conflict resolution, leadership and more
  • Watch live demonstrations from program areas in law enforcement, paramedicine, firefighting and emergency management

BCIT Business & Media Career Exploration Program (CEP) 2020

BCIT School of Business Global Relations, in partnership with the Broadcast and Media Communications would like to invite domestic and international high school students to participate in our ‘Business & Media Career Exploration Program (CEP) 2020’.

Students from your school aged 14 – 17 years old are welcome to join this 2 week program.

This program will be delivered at BCIT Burnaby campus
(3700 Willingdon Avenue).

Program Includes

·       Career suitability testing and individual coaching

·       Interactive career labs exploring BCIT’s School of Business programs, including Marketing, Management, Human Resource Management, Operations Management, Financial Management, Logistics, International Business, Digital Arts, Broadcast and Media Communications

·       Interaction with industry professionals

·       International cuisine lunches 

·       Optional weekend sightseeing packages
