How do I Apply?

To apply to most BC Post Secondary Institutions, go to Education Planner BC (except for UBC, UVic, and UNBC).

BC University Second Language Requirements

Although not a graduation requirement, most universities require students to complete at least Language 11:

  • SFU will accept an Introductory Language 11
  • UBC (Vancouver campus) will accept Language 11
    • However, some faculties require Language 12 or a 1st year language course (e.g. Faculty of Arts)
  • UBC (Okanagan campus) does NOT require a second language
  • If you are an ELL student you may be eligible for a Language 11 &/or 12 Transfer Credit (see your counsellor to check this)
  • Most other universities in Canada do NOT require a second language
  • NO colleges require a second language
