The one column rubrics listed below contain edited versions of the math curriculum (Big Ideas, Content and Curricular Competencies edited for brevity).
The rubrics are intended for teachers to record information about their observations and thinking regarding math curricular competencies. It is meant to help teachers gain expertise and promote discussion. The outside columns provide space regarding outliers and the form may be used during planning or assessment.
The middle column uses wording from the curriculum. As teachers gather expertise, they may want to replace the wording in the middle column so it becomes more explicit and student friendly. If this occurs, the rubrics could then be used by students for self or peer assessment.
Each form includes an arrow so if desired, it can be used to indicate the ‘learning level within a column’.
Note: teachers may want to:
- merge the Big Ideas and Content into one cell
- create more space for comments
- change the form to be double sided on letter size paper
