A Scientist Like Me
Do you know if you asked most little kids (and even big ones) to draw a scientist, you would get an old white man with messy hair? If you want to diversify the representation of scientists FROM students, you have to diversify what they are shown. Below is an assignment (including a K-4 version and a Gr 5-12 version) and a set of resource links that you can use to get students to expand their ideas of WHO does science:
