Welcome Back!

The Library Staff hopes everyone had a wonderful summer. We sure did! One of us traveled afar whereas the rest enjoyed the beautiful BC sunshine. Of course, we also read whenever the great weather didn’t distract us. Here’s just a few of our favourite summer reads:

Someone Else’s Life by Katie Dale

Ten by Gretchen McNeil
My Sister Lives on the Mantelpiece by Annabel Pitcher
Erebos by Ursula Poznanski
The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman

What were your favourite summer titles? Did you read mostly fiction, non-fiction, or magazine? Let us know!

Bring those books back because…

books Please return all library books, magazines, and DVDs. Library overdue notices were distributed during your Period 1 classes so please ask your teacher or check with the library if you suspect you should have received one. Have a library book but didn’t get a notice? Bring it back (it makes for good karma).

Have you read two or more of this year’s Viking Reads titles?

Which book do you feel every Viking should read?

Is it the story of…magical love? strict parenting? growing up with a disability? being blessed/cursed with a Grace? living with a chimpanzee as part of the family? murder in a local high school? local refugees surviving unspeakable horrors? finding love in a cancer survivor support group? cyber-bullying? or life lessons from a monster?

Your vote counts so make sure you do. Voting runs from now until May 22.

Click here to vote –> Vikings Read Voting 2013

Vote now! First 100 participants to vote will win a prize.  And don’t forget to come down to the Library at lunch on May 23 for cake, door prizes and the announcement of this year’s winner!
