This month, Ms.Smith, Mrs.Eterman’s replacement, has been teaching students about Martin Luther King Jr. and the Civil Rights movement through stories and song. This week in the library, Intermediate students will learn about Rosa Parks who challenged the segregation policies in the United States by her singular act of courage. I will show two video clips during the Intermediate classes’ book exchange time. The library has lots of books on Martin Luther King Jr., the Civil Rights movement and the Underground Railroad. The library also has a graphic novel on Rosa Parks.
