Yes, one-eyed Leon is our Livromanie mascot this year! He is adorning our Livromanie bookmarks and book labels as one of his books, Leon and les traditions is on of this year’s book list. Livromanie began early this year as we got all eight titles in January. Many students participating in the program have already three of the eight so they may vote, but a few students have already read all eight of the titles! Bravo! After Spring Break, students will be able to participate in the poster and bookmark design contests. Initially, supplies and suggestions will be given to the students during the week of March 25th to 28th. After that, students are expected to work on this contest on their own time.
The final results are in for Livromanie! At Seaforth, in first place was La Coupe Stanley, and tied for second place was Les Legendaires #1: La pierre de Jovenia and Le petit livre des affaires degueulasses. The final tally for all the votes in Burnaby Schools was First place – Le petit livre des affaires degueulasses, tied for second place was La Coupe Stanley and Les Legendaires. Third place was Lundi, jour de peur. Merci beaucoup to all the French Immersion students who participated in this reading program.
Attention Intermediate French Immersion students – Livromanie begins today, Tuesday, March 15. I will be presenting the books to Div. 8 & 10 first and then to Div. 3,4, &5. There are 10 titles of which you need to read 3 to be eligible to vote in mid-May. This is the perfect time to launch this program because it’s just before Spring Break when you’ll have lots of time to read! Bonne Lecture!
