Robbie Burns Day – Monday, Jan. 25th

Mrs.ToddRobbie Burns Day is a special day at Seaforth as there is an island and loch named Seaforth in Scotland, and the school is named after the Seaforth Highlanders military regiment based in Vancouver. Also, as Canadians, we should be aware of the contributions the Scottish have made in Canadian history. Divisions 5 and 14 heard a special presentation in the school library given by Mrs. Todd, one of our noon-hour supervisors who came to Canada from Glasgow. Even though she emigrated years ago, she still has a strong Glaswegian accent. She recited some of  the poetry of Robbie Burns and explained how Robbie Burns day is celebrated by the Scots. Our Thanks to Mrs. Sandra Mankoo for letting us display her childhood Highland Dancing costume.
