This week, I’ll be telling the grade 6 & 7 students about the truce of Christmas, 1914 using Jim Murphy’s book , Truce and J. Patrick Lewis’ book, And the Soldiers Sang. Students are encouraged to follow up the lesson by watching this video at home made by Mr.Cutler’s grade 6 class which was posted on YouTube. This truce that happened during World War I epitomizes the message of many people’s desire to have ‘Peace on Earth’.
