On Wednesday evening, November 9th I went to see Chris Van Allsburg at a special event for teachers and teacher-librarians. He’s the author and illustrator of many award-winning books such as The Polar Express and Jumanji . One of his most popular books is The Mysteries of Harris Burdick which I read to Ms.Bastone’s grade 4s. They were absolutely fascinated by the book. Chris’s new book is The Chronicles of Harris Burdick inwhich famous authors have taken an image with its title and sentence from the Mysteries books and have written a short story to it. If you’ve read the Mysteries book, perhaps you can write a story from one of the pictures and I’ll post it on this blog!
