Did you know that one of the books commonly studied at Burnaby North today is the frequent target of challenges in the United States?  Khaled Hosseini’s The Kite Runner was the 6th most commonly challenged novel in the US in 2012.

Thank you to all who participated in yesterday’s Speed Book Dating Event! Over 100 staff and students came out to discuss their favourite books. This year there were more than a few books in the fantasy genre but realistic fiction and non-fiction reads were also numerous. A special thanks to Mr. Kaardal, Mr. Pare, and Ms. Finlay for coming out to support this annual event.

North’s 8th annual Speed Book Dating takes place on Thursday, February 13th.  Come to the library and fill out a Speed Dating Form (all forms due Thursday, February 6) and then join us in the library at lunch on February 13th. Everyone is welcome!

Vikings Talk – Blink and Caution

Blink, hoping to steal some breakfast, is forced to go on the run after stumbling upon the fake kidnapping of a CEO and recovering the man’s cell phone, and he meets up with Caution, a girl trying to ditch her drug-dealing boyfriend, who identifies Blink as a mark until he tugs at her heart strings.
