Personal Memory of Terry Fox’s passing in 1981.

I was in Italy sharing cafe latte with my grandfather and while he was reading his Italian paper in this small northern town, he said to me, “Terry Fox died from Cancer”.  It took me a moment to comprehend because my Italian wasn’t particularly strong, but I understood enough of the article to know that Terry Fox was revered as a hero.  The reason why this memory has stayed with me for all these years was because it was the first time my grandfather had talked about my “Nonna” who had passed away at age 50 from breast cancer.   What personal story or connection can you share about Terry Fox?
