It seems like in a blink of an eye, the leaves have turned vibrant red, yellow and orange and the winter rains have struck. These are busy times and I know you are trying to balance the needs and wishes in your buildings.
Just a heads up that our new licenses have been updated and you are most welcome to email me with any numbers that you feel you might need in either Fast ForWord (cognitive and Reading Levels) and/or Reading Assistant. These will support Tier 3 and Tier 2. An example might be through assessment, there a number of students who need some additional support practices on building reading skills. A short term program can be arranged to have these intensive practices that target the skills but still maintain a global balanced approach to literacy. Or maybe there are students who need to build reading fluency, vocabulary and comprehension. Reading Assistant is just the ticket. As always, the data tracking is both immediate and comprehensive so you can quickly adjust the learning process.
An added bonus this year is the opportunity to explore Bookshop Phonics. This printable resource for K-3 strengthens phonics through building the early literacy skills (phonological awareness, phonemic awareness, letter recognition, phonics, word recognition, and fluency). This can be combined with Fast ForWord to further connect the literacy components or to use in the regular classroom as supporting materials.
LEARNING SESSION: For those who are interested, a new teacher learning session is on Monday Nov 1st (08:30-12:00) at CWEC. Please email me if you are interested.
