New Books

The sun is shining (at least for today) and it’s beginning to feel like Spring.  Along with new life outside, there’s new life in the library in the form of new books.  The New Fiction stand is just inside the doors.  Check it over the next week or so as books are added to it.  Whether your tastes run to mystery, adventure, fantasy, science fiction, romance, or something different, there will be something.
The Edge of Nowhere is a mystery with a paranormal twist.  Becca, who can ‘hear’ pieces of other peoples’ thoughts, is on the run from her step-father because he knows that she knows he murdered his business partner.  She ends up alone on Whidbey Island in Washington state.  This is the first in a series by well-known adult mystery writer, Elizabeth George.
Everyone knows the story of Robin Hood.  Scarlet (A.C. Gaughen) tells the story of one of his Merry Men, Will Scarlet.  What only Robin and his men know is that Will is really a girl.
0.4, by Mike Lancaster, is the first of a new science fiction series.  Old audio tapes contain the story of Kyle Straker.  Are they a hoax or are they true?  If they are true, “they contain the history of a past world… [and] that everything we think we know is a lie”.
Charlie lives in a small town in Australia.  One night his friend, Jasper Jones, comes to his bedroom window.  In the forest, there’s a body and Jasper asks Charlie to help cover up the murder until they can prove who did it.  This is the second novel by Australian author, Craig Silvey.
