Maurice Sendak (June 10, 1928 – May 8, 2012)

Maurice Sendak, author and illustrator of childhood favourites such as Where the Wild Things Are, In the Night Kitchen, and Bumble-Ardy, passed away on May 8th as a result of a stroke. He received the Caldicott Medal for Where the Wild Things Are in 1964.
