Nature walks and rocks

Hi Nelson students,

My family and I love going for nature walks. We also love painting. We decided to paint some rocks and release them into the wilderness and hopefully make other people smile. Here are a few photos of our rocks on our favourite hiking trail.

A special hello to Ms. Tsakalos’s class, especially if you are visiting this blog for the first time. It made me smile when Ms. Tsakalos shared her photo of a spider on a tulip with me. Did you see the spider?! I’ve included her photo below too.

Hope you are able to get outside and notice all of the beautiful sights in nature!

Book Beasts Home Reading

Igor, the Nelson Book Beast

Hi Nelson students,

I hope you have all been continuing to read while you are staying safe at home! While you are reading, don’t forget to record every day on your Book Beast sheet. It still counts, even though you can’t hand in the paper to me. Remember, reading can happen in all different ways: by yourself, with a family member, online (Tumblebooks or Epic books), reading out loud, reading in your brain, reading in a different language… Just READ 🙂

Here’s what to do when you finish your sheet:

1.) Scan/photograph the completed sheet and send it to me at heather.roberts@burnabyschools.ca

2.) Flip it over and number the page for the next 50 days and keep going!     OR….

If you have a printer, print the next sheet. The file links are located in the Book Beast tab at the top of this blog.

I would also love to hear what you are reading at home… Leave a comment below!

Happy Reading!
