Pre-Calculus 11

Overview

  • Prerequisite: Foundations and Pre-Calculus 10
  • Textbook: 

Pre-Calculus is strongly recommended for students who are planning on pursuing post-secondary studies in math or sciences (such as Sciences, Engineering, or Business). Students who successfully master the learning outcomes of this course may continue on to Pre-calculus 12. Students who are planning on pursuing post-secondary studies in the arts or the humanities should take Foundations of Mathematics 11. 

Topics Include:

  • Relations and functions
  • Trigonometry
  • Polynomial functions
  • Graphing

Evaluation Guidelines:
The evaluation of this course will based upon tests, assignments and homework

What type of student enjoys and is successful in this course?
Students who enjoy logical and abstract thinking will be suitable for this course. They will find success when they attend regularly, complete homeowk and ask for help when unsure about mathematical concepts.

How will taking this course affect my overall homework load when combined with my other academic subjects?
The homework load will be very heavy. Each class will assign homework that is for the most part, done outside of class time.
