Overview
- Prerequisite: Mathematics 9 Honours
- Textbook:
Mathematics 10/11 Honours is an enriched and accelerated course by one year. Thus, both courses meet all the Prescribed Learning Outcomes for the academically rigorous Foundations of and Pre-Calculus 10 as well as Pre-Calculus 11 course.
Students gain further experience with the graphing calculator, and the emphasis on problem solving continues. This course is highly algebraic in nature, exploring the quadratic function in great detail, trigonometry, sequences and series and an in-depth look at functions and relations. Students in Math 10/ 11 H will receive credit for Pre-Calculus 11 at the end of their Grade 10 year. These students will then usually continue into the Pre- Calculus 12 H course in the following year, where they will work through the curriculum for Pre-Calculus 12.
Topics Include:
-
- Foundations of Pre-Calculus 10 topics
- Pre-Calculus 11 topics

Evaluation Guidelines:
The evaluation of this course will based upon tests, assignments and homework
What type of student enjoys and is successful in this course?
Students will need to attend regularly and ask for help when unsure about mathematical concepts. Students who complete all in-class and homework assignments will find success in this course.
