LORAN AWARDS - $100,000
Eligibility Criteria:
- Be in your final year of uninterrupted full-time studies in high school.
- Present a minimum cumulative average of 85%.
- Hold Canadian citizenship or permanent resident status.
- Be at least 16 years of age by September 1st of the following year
Shortlisted sponsored candidates are notified 2-3 weeks before their regional interview date. Shortlisted direct pool candidates are notified in December.
There are two ways to apply for the Loran Award, with different deadlines.
- A sponsored application is one that is nominated by the school.
- October 17th (8pm Eastern Time)
- A direct pool application is one that is submitted without school sponsorship. There is no limit to the number of direct pool applicants from a single school.
- October 24th (8pm Eastern Time)

University of Toronto - National Scholarship - $100,000
Eligibility Criteria:
- an original and creative thinker committed to school and community
- a high achiever in academic and creative pursuits
- enthusiastic about learning and intellectual exploration
- a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or protected person currently in your final year of Canadian secondary school or first-year CEGEP intending to begin university the following academic year
- a National Book Award nominee or self-identify as meeting the criteria above
Value/Amount:
- The National Scholarship covers tuition, incidental and residence fees for up to four years of study.
- Finalists not designated as National Scholars receive Arbor Scholarships at a value of $7,500 in the first year and $1,500 per year for three additional years of undergraduate study.

Horatio Alger National Entrepreneurial Scholarships - $10,000
Eligibility
To be eligible to apply for the Horatio Alger National Entrepreneurial Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be graduating high school with plans to enter university in the fall of 2020
- Exhibit a strong commitment to pursue and complete a bachelor’s degree program at an accredited university
- Prove critical financial need ($65,000 or less annual net income per family is required)
- Demonstrate desire and ability to be entrepreneurial in a chosen field
- Be involved in co-curricular and community service activities
- Display integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity
- Maintain a minimum grade percentage of 65
- Attend high school and reside in Canada
- Be Canadian citizens

To be eligible to apply for the Horatio Alger Canadian Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be graduating high school with plans to enter university in the fall of 2020
- Exhibit a strong commitment to pursue and complete a bachelor’s degree program at an accredited university
- Demonstrate critical financial need ($65,000 or less annual net income per family is required)
- Be involved in co-curricular and community service activities
- Display integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity
- Maintain a minimum grade percentage of 65
- Attend high school and reside in Canada
- Be Canadian citizens
