Battle of the Books

Battle of the Books is a friendly reading competition for all grade 6 and 7 students. Students ‘battle’ in teams and answer questions about the 10 books that each team has read.

Typically, students receive their Battle books before spring break so they can begin reading. Battles begin after spring break and last for about 6 weeks.

The purpose of Battle of the Books is to:

-read great books from variety of genres

-promote reading

-work together to answer questions about novels

-have friendly competition amongst students/teams

The team with the highest point total after the Nelson school battles will go on to compete against other Burnaby schools in the south zone Burnaby school battle.
