Nutrition Booth with Mr. Cherrier
When: Thursday May 5th at lunch
Where: The commons
Purpose: To inform students on nutrition facts and what ingredients are found in foods. Also to differentiate between real and fake (processed) foods.
Summary: Booth in Commons during lunch that will provide students with an short self directed lesson on eating real food and nutritional facts. Will also have activities and prizes based on guessing nutritional facts of items
Instruction: Will have a booth during lunch that will have s QR code giving students access to a powerpoint/pdf that will give them information on real/fake foods and what to look for when analyzing the nutrition facts table and/or the ingredient list
Students who view PowerPoint will have the option to fill out a 3-2-1 activity given them a ballot in a draw for central swag.
The accompanying activity will see 4 items in jars and students will have the opportunity to guess the nutritional fact of the food. Students will also have access to a QR code that will lead them to 5 questions where they will need to search for ingredients and estimate the nutritional facts. Each completion will gain then a separate ballot for a different draw of prizes. There will also be an option for a student inquiry into their fast food of choice where they will search the facts and ingredients and report their report their findings for extra ballots
