Thousands of dollars in Scholarships from BC School Sports: Due Monday, May 6th

BC School Sports is pleased to announce the renewal of the following scholarships:

2 x $1500 (one male and one female) Dave Gifford Memorial Scholarships.

Applicants must have competed in at least two (2) BCSS approved sports during their grade 12 year. Unsuccessful applicants for the Dave Gifford Memorial Scholarship will automatically be considered for their respective Zone Scholarship. (Please DO NOT complete two applications).

2 x $750 (one male and one female) Zone Scholarships.

Applicants must have competed in at least one (1) BCSS approved sport during grade 12. They must be enrolled in a BC School and must be graduating this year and will be entering their first year of full-time studies in a Canadian University or College. Applicants must have demonstrated exceptional athletic achievement in a BCSS approved sport, have a minimum grade percentage of 75% and have demonstrated outstanding service and leadership in school and/or community.

Two scholarships for $750 will be awarded for each athletic zone (one male and one female).

• Zone A – Kootenay • Zone B – Okanagan Valley • Zone D – Northwest • Zone E – Vancouver Island •Zone G – Fraser Valley • Zone C – North Central • Zone F – Lower Mainland

6 x $1000 Bert & Quartermaine Badminton Scholarship.  

To qualify for the Badminton Scholarship, the applicant must:
• Have played badminton for a BC School Sports member school
• Demonstrate leadership and volunteerism within their school or community
• Plan to attend an accredited Canadian post-secondary school
• Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act

2 x $1000 BC Dairy scholarship.

To qualify, applicants must have competed in BCSS approved sports, specifically, girls volleyball or ultimate during the applicant’s grade 12 school year. Applicants must be enrolled in a BC secondary member school, be graduating this 2018-19 school year and will be entering their first full-time studies in a Canadian University of College. Applicants must have demonstrated school spirit, a healthy lifestyle, and community involvement in order to be considered.
