Alpha Bits – M. Harvey
Today we bring you one of Alpha’s delightful French teachers: Monsieur Harvey. Read below to see what he’s reading and doing at home. We hope this project is helping you feel connected to the hardworking staff at Alpha during this strange time.
Alpha Bits – Ms. Smedbol
Ms. Smedbol is a newer addition to Alpha, but that doesn’t mean she misses it any less. Check out what this hardworking member of the English department misses most about her days inside our school and to learn what she’s been doing to keep busy. Hopefully this is helping everyone feel a little more connected during these unusual times.
Mental Health Resources
During this time of global health concerns, our mental health is paramount and regular self-care is important!
Here are a few tips:
- Monitor your screen-time and limit your Covid-19 news intake
- Stick to a schedule (write out a plan for the day, go to bed and wake up at regular times)
- If you can, get out for walks in nature as much as possible (keeping a 2-metre distance from non-family
members at all times) - Stay connected with friends and family on the phone and/or social media.
- Visit the Calm Blog or download the Mindshift app from Anxiety Canada
- Visit the Burnaby School District website for further counselling & mental health resources
- The Provincial Government also released a list of helpful mental health resources.
