The Pre-Employment Program provides students in Grades 8-12 with a modified, self-paced curriculum emphasizing practical life skills, social skills, and work experience. All students have the opportunity to enroll in elective classes in the area of fine arts, applied skills such as woodwork or cooking, physical education, computers, etc. Some students work on their core academic skills inside the program, based on the individualized goals in their IEP. These students will graduate from this program with an Evergreen Certificate and are prepared for entry-level employment or further vocational programs at the post-secondary level. Some students may work towards their Dogwood graduation credits by enrolling in math, English, or other academic courses outside of the program. Students also have the opportunity to participate in the PEP Brews coffee business, selling hot and cold beverages to staff.
