Mrs. Winter
Mrs. Winter has taught Music at Marlborough Elementary School for the past 12 years. After teaching on-call for 7 years in the Burnaby School District, she began teaching Primary Music (Grades K-3) here at Marlborough and has never looked back.
Mrs. Winter’s love of music began at 5 years old when she started playing piano, and in 1991 she graduated from UBC Music Faculty with a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance. Along with playing piano, Mrs. Winter developed a love of singing, sung in numerous children’s choirs and went on to sing with the UBC Choral Union.
Mrs. Bush
Mrs. Bush started at Ecole Marlborough Elementary in 2018 after finishing her Bachelor of Education and Bachelor of Music in Flute Performance at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. Ms. Hicks is currently teaching K-5 General Music and Grade 7 Beginner Band at Marlborough and co-conducts the Primary and Intermediate Choirs with Mrs. Winter and Mrs. Kuban.
Mrs. Bush remains active in the music community of the Lower Mainland as a board member of the BC Orff Chapter and as a flute player in the New Westminster & District Senior Band.
Mrs. Kuban
Mrs Kuban is excited to join the music department at Marlborough elementary this 2019-2020 school year. Graduating from the University of British Columbia in 2002 with a degree in flute and music education, Mrs Kuban went on to teach music to students as young as six months old to sixty years old! She has been involved in a number of instrumental and choral ensembles over the years and feels privileged to continue her own musical journey alongside the staff and students at Marlborough. As a recent graduate from UBC’s Bachelor of Education program, Mrs Kuban’s passion is to equip others to find their own musical voice, for, “where words fail, music speaks.”
