This year we will be celebrating Literacy Week at Capitol Hill during the week of April 17th to 21st. We are looking forward to all sorts of fun activities inspired by reading, writing and responding throughout the week.
Throughout the week:
-Literacy Week BINGO (prize draw at assembly)
-Guess Staff’s Favourite Book (bulletin board outside the library – prize draw at assembly)
-Daily readings over the PA system
Monday – preparing for activities various activities like “knowledge in your pocket” (information fact to share), bookmark and door decorations (optional)
Tuesday – Read-Your-Shirt day and Guest Readers (pm)
Wednesday – Reading-In-The-Wild day
Thursday – Book swap day (bring a book and take a book)
Friday – Animal dress-up day and Celebration of Learning assembly
