One scholarship will be awarded to an outstanding ESL student in BC.
Who is eligible to apply?
- All ESL students living in British Columbia who are permanent residents or Canadian citizens
- international students on student visas are not eligible for this award
- the successful applicant may use the scholarship to register in any program being offered at a British Columbia post-secondary institution. British Columbia post -secondary institutions are defined as community colleges, vocational institutions and universities.
How to apply:
- A short description of the applicant’s life before coming to Canada
- A personal essay (original copy signed by the applicant): a. Two pages in length, double-spaced, approximately 500 words
b. Topic: How a post-secondary education will enable the applicant to make a positive contribution to Canadian society - Two letters of reference:a. One from a teacher regarding academic performance
b. One from an administrator, counsellor, coach, sponsor, or coordinator regarding service to others - Documented proof of permanent residency of Canadian citizenship
- Grade 8 to Grade 11 transcripts, including records of all English language coursework
- Grade 12 program documentation with marks to date
