If you haven’t watched the 2019 short film, Hair Love, by Matthew A. Cherry, now is the time. This lovely, short film won an Oscar and is about family, love and a father trying to help his daughter. A book was also made about this film, which is interesting since it’s usually books that are made into films, not the other way around! Two copies were purchased for our school library (one in English, one in French) and I had them ready to share with classes after the break. Until we have the opportunity to meet in the library again, please enjoy the movie and if you would like to listen to a read aloud (in English) of the book, it is available through Read Brightly Storytime.
