Rediscovering Harry Potter

For those of you who have never read the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling, or would like read it again, now is a great time to do so.  Both Audible and the Burnaby Public Library (via OverDrive) have partnered with publishers and J.K. Rowling to provide an unlimited number of digital copies of The Philosopher’s Stone at no cost.  This is the first book in the series and it is available in a number of languages–including English and French–for the time being.  Another option for those who have a print copy of the book at home is to listen to the audiobook and follow along.

To accompany the books there are a vast number of activities online, including Wizardingworld.com, an official J.K Rowling site.  There are videos that teach how to draw Harry Potter characters, and sites that demonstrate cool STEAM activities with mostly household items.

You will surely want to watch the movies and read the following books once you have started this series! It is amazing!
