We were delighted to welcome local author, Brittany Watson, to the Stoney Creek Library last week. Brittany came to share her book, The Mischief of Griff with Divisions 9-14. We enjoyed the story about her troublemaker dog so much! We especially loved all of Griff’s hilarious nicknames.
After the story, Brittany showed us how she does the illustrations for her book using her tablet. Students got to see how she uses shapes to make any kind of animal. She drew a beaver and added colour. The students then got to decide on some accessories for the beaver, which Brittany drew with amazing speed and detail! It was inspiring!
If families would like to buy their own copy of The Mischief of Griff or stay up-to-date on Brittany’s next book, they can do so on her website. Brittany will donate 10% of all Stoney Creek sales back to our school. A copy of the book will be available in the library for students to borrow.
