Foundations of Mathematics 12

Overview

  • Prerequisite: Foundations of Mathematics 11

Foundations of Mathematics 12 course follows is designed to enable students to develop their mathematical knowledge, skills, and attitudes in the context of their lives and possible careers. This is a course for students who do not need to study Calculus in a post-secondary institution.

Topics Include:

  • The study of puzzles
  • Compound interest and investment portfolios
  • Set theory
  • Probability
  • Sinusoidal functions
  • Geomteric explorations
  • Current events in math

Evaluation Guidelines:

The evaluation of this course will based upon tests,  assignments, homework and occasional projects.

What type of student enjoys and is successful in this course?
Students will need to attend regularly and ask for help when unsure about mathematical concepts. Students who complete all in-class and homework assignments will find success in this course.
