Besides being Valentine’s Day, February 14th is also the BCTLA’s Love your School Library Day. It is a day to remind all of us of the important roles the school libraries play in supporting the curriculum and in making every child a life-long learner. Roch Carrier, author of The Hockey Sweater, stated that libraries are “the heart of a school”. Let’s remember this on February 14th and every day! For many children, it is the only library they have access to, so it is even more important that every school has a library and a school-librarian.
