There are many celebrations and events during the month of February. One of them is Black History Month in which we celebrate and acknowledge the contributions Black people have made to the history and culture of Canada. One class is reading Underground to Canada, a fictional work about the Underground Railroad and another class is reading Elijah of Buxton by Christopher Paul Curtis. I’ll be showing these classes literature and non-fiction books related to this topic. Also, they will be exploring the Canadian Museum of Civilization’s virtual museum exhibit titled Canadian Black History: An Interactive Experience .
