Young Reader’s Choice Awards

Hi Windsor Parents and Students,

I wanted to let you know about the YRCA which is a reading program for grades 4-12 living in Alaska, Alberta, British Columbia, Idaho, Montana and Washington. Students get to choose which book in each category should win the award. Our library has all of the books in the junior and intermediate division. Windsor intermediate students are invited to read at least 2-3 books or more in a category and then vote for the one they think is the best. All of the nominations are amazing! You have until April 15th to vote. Did you finish a title early in your spring break and now can’t wait to come back to school to get another book on the list? Consider swinging by the Burnaby Public Library to see if you can get your hands on another exciting title from the YRCA contest. Click on the picture below to vote 🙂

Also check out the trailers for each book! Click the link below and scroll down to find pictures of the books and click on the “watch the video” button.

Finally don’t forget to participate in our school Read-a-Thon this Spring Break, put together by our awesome PAC. More information will be provided to you about our Read-a-thon on Friday. Also a huge thank-you to all the families who generously donated books or $20 to the library! We appreciate your support as we continue to foster a love of reading for all Windsor students.

HAPPY READING!

-Ms. Ward
