Join us for a fun-filled day of activities hosted by your two school goal committees (Literacy & Healthy Schools) on Tuesday, January 24th!
Throughout the day you’ll circulate through several practical and fun activity stations, ranging from a Harry Potter-themed Escape Room to an “organize your life” session to tips for managing your stress (just to name a few)!
Arrive in the Commons before 9:00 so that you have time to find your nametag and grab a seat where you’ll hear the day’s schedule.
A pizza lunch will be provided but remember to bring your own water bottle!
We are looking forward to seeing you all there on Tuesday!

Your annual Literacy Week is right around the corner, running November 21st-24th!
If you are in grade 8 and new to our school, you can expect a classroom visit from Ms. Smith sharing all the ways you can participate in Literacy activities throughout the week and how to be eligible to win prizes!
Back by popular demand is our Library Escape Room but with a new theme: “Stranger Things”!
Also back will be the choice board filled with activities where you can choose your own literacy challenge with your classes.
Remember: the more you participate, the more chances you have of winning fun prizes…even a class pizza party! Remind your teachers to submit pictures of your participation to the Literacy Week thread so you are included in the prize draws.
Have fun!

Thank you to students and staff who enthusiastically participated in Literacy Week 2022!
A huge “thank-you” also to the Literacy Committee and Student Committee who organized such engaging and meaningful activities throughout the week. On offer were many choices to engage with this year and our school community participated in these activities across their curricular areas in very creative ways!
Congratulations to Ms. Moore’s ELL period 8 class for most engagement! They are the recipients of a class pizza party!
Congratulations, also, to Ms. Wu’s grade 11 Science class for winning the Word Scramble! They are the recipients of an array of sweet treats!
See a sampling of images below of our community’s Literacy-In-Action.
A reminder to ask your teachers to take photos of your classes engaged in your activities. The more they submit, the more chances you’ll have to win prizes! There will be opportunities for individual prizes and also a class pizza party (for most engagement)!
Thank you for your support and have a great week ahead!
We are excited that Literacy Week 2022 is just around the corner!
