SFU is offering a 3 week summer camp in Artificial Intelligence to select Indigenous and Black young women in the community.

Invent the Future 2023

Invent the Future is Canada’s first and only three-week summer enrichment program focused on bringing Artificial Intelligence (AI) expertise, community, and mentorship to trans and cisgender women, non-binary and Two Spirit students in Grade 9-12. This year’s program will run synchronously from July 10-28, 2023 with some asynchronous activities taking place a week before. Check out last year’s program schedule using this link.

Date: July 10-28, 2023*

Time: 9 am-12 pm PST

Delivery: Online via Zoom

Student: Trans and cisgender women, non-binary and Two Spirit students in Grade 9-12

*Please note, accepted students will complete a pre-program Python workshop from July 4th to 7th. The learning materials will be delivered online synchronously and asynchronously.

General admission deadline: April 11th  @ 11:59pm PST

Program Fee: Waived for eligible Indigenous and Black youth through the CIFAR Inclusive AI Scholarship upon acceptance to the program. Laptop loans also available if needed.
