Attn grade 12 students interested in Mini-Med School? Register on Mon. Sept. 19th

Mini Med School 2022 explores childhood and adolescent mental health. They will investigate the principles of psychological development, examine biological and behavioural symptoms, learn about effective interventions, and work to break down mental health stigmas.

In a series of presentations hosted by Mini Med School Co-Deans Dr. Janet Mah & Dr. Bob McMahon, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Learn more about mental health, emotional health and behavioural conditions
  • Discover the newest research on how to support a healthy mind
  • Interact with world-class scientists and health professionals (virtually or in-person)
  • Explore the diverse careers available in science and medicine

Please note, the Mini Med School 2022 curriculum will include topics such as eating disorders, discrimination and self-harm. We acknowledge this content may be difficult and triggering and encourage you to make your safety and well-being your first priority.

The registration form for Mini Med School will be posted from Monday, September 19 (9:00 am) to Sunday, September 25, 2022 (11:59 pm). This is a very popular activity… be sure to register on time.

To complete the registration form you will be asked to provide the following:

  • Your name, email address, grade and school name
  • Sponsor teacher name and their email address (reference letter is NOT required). It is suggested you select a science, technology, engineering, or math teacher. Your counsellor may also act as your reference.
  • How you would like to participate: In-PersonVirtually Live OR On-Demand. You may only select ONE method of participation. Each student may only register once
  • If you’re registering for Mini Med School In-Person, confirm that you are fully vaccinated
  • A personal statement (150 words or less) that answers the following questions: Why are you interested in attending Mini Med School? What do you hope to gain from participating?
