Our students had the opportunity to meet three very special guests who inspired us all in different ways.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"205\" data-end=\"861\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-889 \" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.sd41.bc.ca\/stoney-library\/files\/2026\/02\/WhatsApp-Image-2025-01-11-at-1.11.43-PM-1-768x1024-1-e1771874695625-281x300.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"182\" height=\"194\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.sd41.bc.ca\/stoney-library\/files\/2026\/02\/WhatsApp-Image-2025-01-11-at-1.11.43-PM-1-768x1024-1-e1771874695625-281x300.jpeg 281w, https:\/\/blogs.sd41.bc.ca\/stoney-library\/files\/2026\/02\/WhatsApp-Image-2025-01-11-at-1.11.43-PM-1-768x1024-1-e1771874695625-252x270.jpeg 252w, https:\/\/blogs.sd41.bc.ca\/stoney-library\/files\/2026\/02\/WhatsApp-Image-2025-01-11-at-1.11.43-PM-1-768x1024-1-e1771874695625.jpeg 360w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 182px) 100vw, 182px\" \/>We were delighted to welcome local author <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thelocalbookshelf.com\/jenn-wint\"><strong data-start=\"247\" data-end=\"288\"><span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Jenn Wint<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/a>, who visited with our primary classes to share her book, <em><strong data-start=\"346\" data-end=\"387\"><span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Josie&#8217;s Busy Calendar<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/em>. Students loved hearing the story of Josie, a young girl who begins to feel overwhelmed by all the activities and commitments filling her calendar. The story sparked thoughtful conversations about balance, feelings, and the importance of making time to rest. Jenn answered many enthusiastic questions from our curious readers and even brought copies of her book to share. It was such a treat for students to meet a real author and learn about the writing process firsthand!<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"205\" data-end=\"861\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-890 size-full aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.sd41.bc.ca\/stoney-library\/files\/2026\/02\/20260128_093536.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.sd41.bc.ca\/stoney-library\/files\/2026\/02\/20260128_093536.jpg 640w, https:\/\/blogs.sd41.bc.ca\/stoney-library\/files\/2026\/02\/20260128_093536-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.sd41.bc.ca\/stoney-library\/files\/2026\/02\/20260128_093536-360x203.jpg 360w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"863\" data-end=\"1355\">Our intermediate classes enjoyed a visit from <strong data-start=\"909\" data-end=\"950\"><span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Ana Calabresi<\/span><\/span><\/strong>, the children\u2019s librarian from the <strong data-start=\"986\" data-end=\"1027\"><span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Cameron Public Library<\/span><\/span><\/strong>. Ana spoke to students about the exciting new library building currently being built and what they can look forward to when it opens. She also helped us celebrate our Read Local day by sharing the names of several local authors. Marilyn spoke to all of our classes about how she uses braille to read and write. Students and staff were completely captivated as she demonstrated her braille typewriter and explained how it works. There were many thoughtful and respectful questions, which Marilyn kindly answered.
