This course prepares students for math in the work place and focuses on real-world applications of mathematics.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">This course follows the provincial curriculum, with an emphasis on helping students build skills around four main ideas:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">proportional reasoning<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">measurement of 3-dimensional objects<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">number sense and flexibility with numbers<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">representing and analyzing data to make sense of it.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">Math learned in this course would be highly valued in trades programs, culinary programs, personal budgeting, and direct entry into the workforce after graduation.
