BURNABY SOUTH DANCE PROGRAM SCHOLARSHIP
Burnaby South Dance has a scholarship! The recipient does not have to be pursuing dance in post secondary in order to receive it. The scholarship can go towards post secondary entry fees, school textbooks, or special summer programs.
QUALIFICATIONS
To be eligible, a student must:
- Be registered at Burnaby South Secondary & the B.C. Provincial School for the Deaf; living in British Columbia.
- Be a student graduating from the Burnaby South Dance Program
- Be a student who has successfully completed Burnaby South dance courses in grades 10, 11 and 12
- Show significant merit in the field of dance by achieving a minimum average of 86% in grades 10, 11 and 12 dance courses.
- Have applied and then be accepted into a post-secondary educational institution or program.
WHAT THE TEACHER LOOKS FOR IN A RECIPIENT
Dance scholarships are given to students who have been with South Dance since grade 10. Only Grade 12 students who have taken a dance course in grades 10, 11, and 12 are qualified in their graduating year. Students are chosen based on their personal dance journeys which include their growth in dance technique, physical development, leadership skills, choreographic skills, teamwork capacity, personal accountability in and out of the studio, passion for the arts, and the pursuit of dance excellence.
