{"id":2657,"date":"2021-09-29T08:10:15","date_gmt":"2021-09-29T15:10:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.sd41.bc.ca\/south-counselling\/?p=2657"},"modified":"2021-09-29T09:16:15","modified_gmt":"2021-09-29T16:16:15","slug":"language-challenge-exam","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.sd41.bc.ca\/south-counselling\/2021\/09\/29\/language-challenge-exam\/","title":{"rendered":"Language Challenge Exam!!"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Hey Burnaby South!!<\/strong><\/span><\/h1>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Are you interested in Challenging a\u00a0Language\u00a0that you are already\u00a0fluent in?<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n<blockquote>\n<h4><em><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>NOTE:<\/strong><\/span><\/em> <em><strong>Covid-19: We will be having in-person exams for Language Challenge in January 2022.\u00a0 We will rigorously follow all Provincial Covid-19 guidelines and safety measures during exam days.<\/strong><\/em><\/h4>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>COURSES OFFERED TO\u00a0CHALLENGE<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>French 11 or 12<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Japanese 11 or 12<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Korean 11 or 12<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><b>Mandarin 11 or 12 <\/b><em>(Traditional &amp; Simplified)\u00a0<\/em><\/li>\n<li><strong>Punjabi 11 or 12<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Spanish 11 or 12<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\"><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you would like to complete a\u00a0Language\u00a0Challenge\u00a0Exam, you <strong>MUST<\/strong> complete the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Download the <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.sd41.bc.ca\/south-counselling\/files\/2020\/10\/Language-Challenge-Exam-Application-Package-2021-22.pdf\">Language Challenge Exam Application Package (2021-22)<\/a>\u00a0and fill\u00a0it out <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>COMPLETELY<\/strong><\/span> --&gt; it is attached to an email sent to your Microsoft Teams Email account\n<ul>\n<li>\u200bYou\u00a0need to complete pages 9, 10 &amp; 11 online\u00a0<strong><em>before<\/em><\/strong><em>\u00a0<\/em>you print out the Application and bring it to me\n<ul>\n<li>Any Applications which have been completed in pen will be returned to you to redo - this must all be typed out<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><u>Attach a\u00a0cheque\u00a0for $50<\/u> (which will be refunded once you complete the\u00a0Challenge\u00a0exam) made out to: <em>Delta School District --&gt;<\/em> <strong><em><u>Please NO Bank Drafts<\/u><\/em><\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>\u200bYou must also print your Full Name, School and Course you are challenging on the\u00a0<strong>back<\/strong>\u00a0of the\u00a0cheque<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>FYI<\/strong><\/span>\u2026.If you fail to show up to your exam, then your $50 deposit will <u>NOT<\/u> be refunded<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Note<\/strong><\/span>: \u00a0all <strong>International Students<\/strong> need to submit $195 as a non-refundable fee for exams<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Attach a <strong>recent,\u00a0<em>original\u00a0<\/em>photo<\/strong> of you (can be passport type or school photo)\n<ul>\n<li>\u200b\u200b It <strong><u>MUST<\/u><\/strong> be an actual picture picture (NO photocopies, scans, etc..)\n<ul>\n<li>if you do not have an actual physical picture, then go get a Passport photo done and bring one of those\n<ul>\n<li>You can go to Crystal Mall, Metrotown, London Drugs...<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>It <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>CANNOT<\/strong><\/span> be a photocopy of a picture<\/li>\n<li>\u200b\u200bIt <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>CANNOT<\/strong><\/span> include anybody else in the picture (ie; friends, family, pets)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Submit the <strong>COMPLETED <\/strong>Application Package to Ms. Fenn (in Student Services, room C118) <u>no later than\u00a0<\/u><span style=\"color: #339966;\"><strong><em>Monday, October 18th\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li>Exam dates are either: January 29th or 30th 2022 \u2013 in <strong>DELTA SCHOOL DISTRICT<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Confirmation emails will be sent out by December 15, 2021. If you have not received an email confirmation letter by mid-December please contact us by email or 604-940-5550<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>&#x2666;<\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong><strong>NOTE:<\/strong>\u00a0<em>All universities in Canada accept our Language Challenge exam marks. UBC accepts Challenge credits for pre-requisite and requirements for courses and second-language requirements but does not accept Challenge marks as part of the GPA calculation for admission.
