{"id":2382,"date":"2015-03-06T21:38:50","date_gmt":"2015-03-06T21:38:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.sd41.bc.ca\/south-counselling\/?p=2382"},"modified":"2015-06-17T19:24:00","modified_gmt":"2015-06-17T19:24:00","slug":"burnaby-online-summer-school","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.sd41.bc.ca\/south-counselling\/2015\/03\/06\/burnaby-online-summer-school\/","title":{"rendered":"BURNABY ONLINE &#8211; Summer School"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Online registration for Summer School Courses is up and ready to go on\u00a0our Burnaby Online Website:\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.online.sd41.bc.ca\/Registration.aspx\">http:\/\/www.online.sd41.bc.ca\/Registration.aspx<\/a><\/p>\n<p>On Step 1 of the online registration process, students wanting to take a summer course should make sure they choose <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>\"Summer session courses\"<\/strong> <\/span>as the Registration Type.<\/p>\n<p>Courses will run July 2 - August 7, 2015.<\/p>\n<p>Unlike our regular courses that are self paced, our summer courses have strict due dates for assignments\/tests. Students can, and do, work ahead, if they wish.<\/p>\n<p>Registration for summer courses closes on June 19, 2015. \u00a0This is to allow our office staff a week to process the hundreds of registrations that come in right before the deadline (of course, the majority of the students wait until last minute to register). \u00a0Under no circumstances, will a student be allowed to enroll in a summer course once the course has started<\/p>\n<p>The Following Courses are being offered for Summer School Completion this year:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Android App Development (new)<\/li>\n<li>BC First Nations Studies 12<\/li>\n<li>Earth Science 11<\/li>\n<li>English Lit 12<\/li>\n<li>Geography 12<\/li>\n<li>History 12<\/li>\n<li>ICT 12 Modular Survey<\/li>\n<li>ICT 12 Programming<\/li>\n<li>Italian Intro 11 (new)<\/li>\n<li>PE 10<\/li>\n<li>Planning 10<\/li>\n<li>Spanish Intro 11<\/li>\n<li>Spanish 11<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Each student registering for summer courses must complete and <strong>submit the <a href=\"http:\/\/online.sd41.bc.ca\/Registration\/FirstAssignments.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">First Assignment<\/a><\/strong> for the course<\/p>\n<p>On the morning of June 27, students will be enrolled into their course and access to the course materials will be made available. Students will then receive a message letting them know who their teacher is, that the course has been opened and that they may begin working. \u00a0<strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Please note that students will not be able to access the course or course materials until the June 27 start date.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Students are required to <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>attend an orientation session<\/strong><\/span>. Orientation sessions will be taking place at each of the Burnaby Secondary Schools in June, probably after most exams are completed. The dates are yet to be determined. A message will be sent out with the orientation dates once we have them confimed.
