{"id":2743,"date":"2019-09-25T21:21:29","date_gmt":"2019-09-25T21:21:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.sd41.bc.ca\/south-counselling\/?page_id=2743"},"modified":"2020-10-04T14:25:29","modified_gmt":"2020-10-04T21:25:29","slug":"december-deadlines","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/blogs.sd41.bc.ca\/south-counselling\/scholarships\/2019-2020-scholarships-available\/december-deadlines\/","title":{"rendered":"December Deadlines"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 class=\"page-header\"><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">UBC Centennial Scholars Entrance Award<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The UBC Centennial Scholars Entrance Award program assists students who are transitioning to UBC from secondary school or another post-secondary institution.<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of the program is to financially support academically qualified students who show an interest in joining and contributing to the UBC community, but who would not be able to attend without significant financial assistance.<\/p>\n<p>Through the program, new students can access a variety of one-time and renewable awards of up to $40,000, payable over four years.<\/p>\n<p>For those studying on UBC\u2019s Vancouver campus, there are opportunities to receive full-ride awards that cover the full cost of their degree and living expenses.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Are You Eligible?<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>You are eligible to apply for a UBC Centennial Scholars Entrance Award if you are a strong academic student and meet all of UBC\u2019s admission requirements. You must also be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident of Canada, or protected person in Canada who is entering UBC\u2019s Okanagan or Vancouver campus directly from high school, or transferring from another post-secondary institution into a direct-entry program for your first undergraduate degree.<\/p>\n<p>Although you can specify two undergraduate degree choices in your application to UBC, your award application will only be considered for your first-choice campus and degree. The Centennial Scholars Entrance Award is separate from the\u00a0<a title=\"Major Entrance Scholarship\" href=\"https:\/\/you.ubc.ca\/financial-planning\/scholarships-awards-canadian-students\/presidential-scholars\/\">Presidential Scholars Award<\/a>.
