Welcome back readers! I hope you all read some good books over Spring Break. While I was in Arizona for spring break, I found two wonderful picturebooks about javelinas. The first one is called The Three Little Havelinas and it’s even autographed by the author, Susan Lowell.
The second book, titled Don’t Call Me Pig! is in poetry form and tells us about javelinas, too.
I’ll be reading one or both books to the primary classes this week. The purpose of reading these books is to ‘find facts in fiction’. It’s amazing how much factual information can be found in fiction books about actual events, people, places and … animals! So, what is a javelina? Find out during this week’s storytime!
