{"id":224,"date":"2025-12-19T14:45:02","date_gmt":"2025-12-19T22:45:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.sd41.bc.ca\/north-scholarships\/?p=224"},"modified":"2025-12-19T13:04:58","modified_gmt":"2025-12-19T21:04:58","slug":"pathways-to-teacher-education-scholarship","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.sd41.bc.ca\/north-scholarships\/?p=224","title":{"rendered":"Pathways to Teacher Education Scholarship"},"content":{"rendered":"<h6>Criteria<\/h6>\n<p>The Pathway to Teacher Education Scholarship is awarded to 20 outstanding high school graduates who have demonstrated a commitment and aptitude for a career path in K-12 teaching.<\/p>\n<p>Students selected as conditional recipients of the Pathway to Teacher Education scholarship must\u00a0<strong>meet the following requirements\u00a0by August 31 of their graduating year<\/strong>\u00a0to be confirmed as a recipient and receive their scholarship voucher:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www2.gov.bc.ca\/gov\/content\/education-training\/k-12\/support\/scholarships\/provincial-scholarships\/basic-eligibility-requirements\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\">Meet core eligibility requirements<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Be eligible for a B.C. Certificate of Graduation (Dogwood Diploma)<\/li>\n<li>Fulfill the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www2.gov.bc.ca\/gov\/content\/education-training\/k-12\/support\/graduation#dogwood\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\">requirements of the B.C. Graduation Program<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Have the following final marks\n<ul>\n<li>Minimum \u201cB\u201d average in grades 11 and 12 courses required for graduation<\/li>\n<li>Minimum &#8220;B&#8221; (73% or above) in Language Arts 12<\/li>\n<li>Minimum \u201cB\u201d average, no more than one &#8220;C+&#8221; (67% or above), and no marks lower than \u201cC+\u201d in courses that fulfill graduation requirements for Science\u00a011\u00a0or 12, Math\u00a011, and Social Studies 11\u00a0or 12<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong>\u00a0Students may apply for both the Pathway to Teacher Education scholarship and the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www2.gov.bc.ca\/gov\/content\/education-training\/k-12\/support\/scholarships\/provincial-scholarships\/bc-excellence-scholarships\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\">BC\u00a0Excellence scholarship<\/a>, but can be awarded only one.<\/p>\n<h6>Value<em>:<\/em><\/h6>\n<p>$5,000 scholarship voucher to redeem when registered and attending an approved K-12 teacher education program at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.bcteacherregulation.ca\/teachereducation\/teachereducationoverview.aspx\">one of BC\u2019s nine Faculties of Education<\/a>.
